Privacy policy

Who we are

The Confederation of Real Estate Associates (India), “CREA (I)”, decides how the personal data described here is used. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, that makes us its Data Fiduciary. Our contact details are at the end of this page.

What we collect

• About you, the person booking: your name, email address, phone number, company if you give one, whether you’re a CREA (I) member, your GST details if you ask for an invoice, and whether you want emails about future events.
• About the other attendees: each person’s name, email address, phone number and membership, and GST details if you give a different GSTIN for their ticket. Before you share someone’s details, make sure they’re happy for you to do so, and point them to this policy.
• About your payment: the amount, and the order and payment references. Razorpay handles the payment itself, so we never receive your card, UPI or bank details.
• When you visit: our hosting provider handles your IP address and similar technical details to deliver the website and stop abuse, for example by limiting repeated attempts to pay.

How we use it

• To issue tickets, email QR passes and check attendees in on the day.
• To check each member ticket against CREA (I)’s member list, and that each member holds only one.
• To issue GST invoices and keep the accounting records the law requires.
• To contact you and the other attendees about the booking and the event, for example if timings change.
• To email the person who booked about future CREA (I) events, if they left that box ticked.

We don’t sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Emails about future events

The box for emails about future CREA (I) events is ticked when the form opens; untick it if you’d rather not get them. It covers only the person booking, never the other attendees. You can change your mind at any time with the unsubscribe link in any of these emails, or by writing to us.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the services that run this website and the booking, and only for that purpose:

• Razorpay processes payments.
• Neon hosts the database that stores bookings.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and protects it from abuse.
• Google Forms collects membership applications, if you follow one of the “Become a member” links.

We also share personal data when the law requires it, for example with tax authorities.

Where it’s stored

Our service providers may store and process personal data outside India.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, currently at least six years, and then delete them. Details from bookings that were never paid are deleted after the event. We keep your choice about event emails until you change it.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• correct, complete or update it;
• erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
• stop using it where you gave consent, such as for event emails.

You can also nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to. Write to us to use any of them.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about your booking or your personal data, write to our grievance officer at events@creaindia.in. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within one month. If you’re not satisfied with our answer about your personal data, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Cookies

This website doesn’t set cookies of its own. Razorpay Checkout may set its own when it loads, under its own policy, and Cloudflare may set one to tell visitors from bots.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
